Hardware

Other required Software

A complete PDAPalm installation consists of the Palm™ Desktop Software, the PDAPalm Conduit for the appropriate version of Plato Data Analyzer, and the PDAPalm Application. The Palm Desktop Software and PDAPalm Conduit install and run on a Microsoft Windows platform. The PDAPalm Application is software that runs on the Palm Pilot family of hand organizers. The requirements for both the PDAPalm Conduit and the PDAPalm application are given below.

Hardware

PDAPalm Conduit:

  • Initial Hard Disk Space Required: 25 MB. This does not account for additional data storage needed when retrieving data from the handheld for storage on the desktop computer.
  • One available USB port used for the HotSync® process

PDAPalm:

Due to the CPU intensive nature of the PDAPalm handheld application, it is necessary that it be hosted on one of the higher end Palm Pilots running 300+ MHz. Currently PDAPalm support is limited to the following Palm Pilot models:

  • Zire 71, 72
  • Tungsten T3

Operating System

PDAPalm Conduit:

  • Microsoft Windows 98, Microsoft Windows 2000, Microsoft Windows XP. (2000 and XP require admin rights to install)

PDAPalm:

  • Palm OS 5.0+

Memory

PDAPalm Conduit:

  • Minimum RAM: Minimum 64MB, Recommended 128MB. (Note: Memory requirements take into account the memory needed to sync Palm Pilot worksheet data.)

Other required Software

  • Palm Desktop Software distributed with the purchased Palm Pilot.
  • A licensed copy of PDAStandard or PDAProfessional on the computer that will be hosting the PDAPalm Conduit.
