Overview

This will install the Plato Tracer Client Program Files. These are the programs that a user will use to access Plato Tracer Databases and run reports. If using Terminal Server or Citrix Server, client programs will be installed there.

Prerequisite

• Plato Data Analyzer Professional version 4.7.1 or better installed.
• Ensure that you have local administrative or equivalent rights to install software to the computer.
• .NET Frame work re-distributable 2.0 (if it is not installed the program will prompt you to install it).

Step by Step

Download:

1. Download the Plato Tracer client software from the web site to your machine.
2. Double click the downloaded file to unzip it.
3. When prompted specify the folder when you want to unzip the files (e.g. c:\PlatoTracerInstall).
4. Once unzipped delete the downloaded file (so as to avoid any confusion).
5. You may leave the c:\PlatoTracerInstall folder on your c drive, however it is recommended that you move it to the server so that the same folder can be used to install Plato Tracer on other machines.

Install:

1. Launch Plato Tracer client install setup.
1. If the computer does not have .NET 2.0 Framework redistributable, you will be prompted to install it. Setup cannot proceed without installing the framework.
2. At the Welcome To Plato Tracer Client Programs screen, click Next.
3. At the Plato Tracer Installation Folder dialog, enter the location where you want to install Plato Tracer client application. It defaults to where PDA Professional Client was installed. It is recommended to leave it that way.
4. Click 'Next' to proceed. The setup program will validate the existence of Plato Data Analyzer Professional. If successful, it will proceed to the next dialog. If it is unsuccessful, you will again be prompted for either a valid folder.
5. Click 'Next' to start the installation.
