Overview
The Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) implemented a Comprehensive Error Rate Testing Program and began producing error rates and estimates of improper payments to evaluate contractor and program performance. Since inception of this program CMS has recovered nearly $900 million in Improper Medicare Payments.
