Also read carefully the Download and Upgrade Instructions section for information specific to this upgrade.

Instructions

To successfully upgrade your Plato Data Analyzer make sure:

  • No user is using PDA form any of the workstations.
  • Backup of PDA server databases has been done (optional but recommended).
  • Location of the server databases. You can find that out by choosing Help->About from PDA, data path tells you the location of server databases.
  • Even though both server and client machines are upgraded, the upgrade needs to be run from a client workstation where PDA has already been installed. The upgrade program will identify if server databases needs to be upgraded and will upgrade it also if needed.

Follow these steps:

  1. Download the upgrade from the link which was emailed to you*.
  2. Launch the upgrade program.
  3. Verify the location of the Plato Data Analyzer Program Files. These are usually located at "C:\Program Files\CPR Technologies\PDA" or "C:\Program Files\PDA" for each workstation.
  4. Verify the location of the User and System databases. Be sure to specify this location on the System and User Databases screen while running the upgrade program.
  5. Run the upgrade program on each workstation where Plato Data Analyzer is installed. If you are upgrading secondary workstations, turn off the indicator next to the System and User databases field on the System and User databases screen.
  6. To upgrade the Plato Data Analyzer Tutorial, run the upgrade on each workstation again, but specify the location of Tutorial database on the System and User Databases screen. The Tutorial Database is usually located at "C:\Program Files\CPR Technologies\PDA\Tutorial" or "C:\Program Files\PDA\Sample"

Version 3.2.3

Released on March 20, 2006

  • Issue with General Compliance for selected topics: In some cases General Compliance report would display all topics even though users selected only a few topics. This issue has been fixed.
  • Report property dialog does not hide: In some cases report property dialog did not hide after the report was displayed on the screen. This issue has been fixed.
  • Analyzer does not used to complain of not enough memory: In some cases analyzer used to complain of not enough memory, even though enough memory was available. This issue has been fixed.
  • Printing bug fix: Is some cases program used to error out at the time of printing and exporting. This issue has been fixed. To accomplish this program can no longer automatically switches to landscape mode, you will have to do this manually. You will be prompted to change the orientation when needed.
  • Licensing changed: Users can now move workstations without emailing the PDASys file to us. This requires issuing registration numbers to activate the first workstation.
  • Percentage displayed as n/a if denominator is 0: Qualitative reports have been changed to display n/a in the percentage column instead of 0.0% if the denominator is zero.

Version 3.2.2

Released on October 18, 2004

  • Crystal reports replaced with web reporting: The entire reporting engine has been re-written from ground up. Because of the ongoing conflicts with different versions of Crystal and incompatibility with other 3rd party products, Crystal reports have been replaced with browser based reporting. These reports need a minimum of Internet Explorer version 5.01 installed on client workstation. Reports now provide many more features outlined below:
    • Reports can now be expanded and collapsed for a parent criterion and/or for a group breaks. The columns can be highlighted. This will allow you to concentrate on specifics that you are monitoring.
    • *Reports exported to Word, Excel and HTML are cleaner and resemble the ones you see on the screen. You should be able to use them as-is without re-adjusting them. Reports exported in XML also contain IDs, thus allowing you to program against them. XML reports now also contain parameter information for which the report was run. If virus scanner has been configured on your computer to check for viruses in Word or Excel documents, you might see your virus scanner program being activated when exporting to Word and Excel.
    • When clicking print from the toolbar no print dialog is displayed, thus saving you a redundant click. If however you want to choose a specific printer etc. you still can reach the print dialog from File->Print option.
    • Saved reports are backwardly compatible i.e. if you have saved reports in older version, you will still be able to open them from the recall folder. Reports that you save from now on will be saved in the new format. However note that older reports will open only from those workstations that were installed with crystal support.
  • Delete incomplete worksheet folders from Pocket PC: Sometimes while preparing worksheets for upload on Pocket PC some incomplete folders are created. These folders are now detected when synchronizing Pocket PDA and user has an option to delete them.
  • Analyzer to include children: You can now choose to include the children for the parent whose criterion state is 'On' when running the Analyzer cube. This can be selected by choosing the 'Include Children' check box from the analyzer parameter dialog box.
  • Passwords cannot be same as user name: Passwords can no longer be same as user name and you will be propmted to change it if they are same.
  • Issue with licensing on Critrix client: In some cases the program did not generate licenses properly for Citrix clients; this issue has been fixed.
Note

Version 3.2.1

Released on June 21, 2004

  • Criterion can be repeated n times from repeated criterion: The program used to error out when repeating a criterion n times from a repeated criterion. This has been fixed.
  • Support for server side licensing: With this version we have moved to server side licensing instead of client side. This means you do not have to call us for registration numbers each time you install a client workstation. Also when you want to move PDA from one machine to another you can do that on your own, without calling us for registration numbers.
    • To accomplish this, new registration number need to be assigned to you. So the first time after you run the upgrade, you will have to call us for new licenses.
  • Qualitative reports can be grouped: Practitioner, Department, Shift and Unit Qualitative reports can now be grouped. For example you want to run the Department Qualitative report for all the departments at one time. To accomplish this run the Department Qualitative Profile report and leave the department blank. You may also get all departments on a separate page by checking the ‘Page Break’ check box from the report dialog. This earlier could only be accomplished from analyzer cube.
  • Changing practitioner in the header changes his name in the display: When editing worksheets changing the practitioner in the header did not change his name in the list. This has been fixed.
  • Comments saved properly from Pocket PC: Comments entered from Pocket PC were not synchronized correctly to the server databases. This used to cause the program to display an error when editing that worksheet subsequently. This has been fixed.
  • All Worksheet header fields saved correctly from Pocket PC: Study specific fields i.e. unit, shift, and sample dates are transferred correctly from Pocket PC to the database server. Earlier the data from these fields was not getting saved to the database server.
  • Status displayed when synchronizing worksheets from Pocket PC: Status messages are displayed as worksheets are saved from the Pocket PC to the server databases.
  • User name saved correctly from Pocket PC: User name is now transferred correctly from Pocket PC. Earlier user name was not getting saved to the server databases.
  • Worksheets synchronize faster with Pocket PC: Worksheets from Pocket PC are synchronized faster from Pocket PC.
  • Generate worksheets error fixed: When generating worksheets it used to error out in some cases when selecting generate new patient records in some cases. This has been fixed.
  • Supports workstation licensing for terminal server: This version supports licensing for remote clients for terminal server so that these workstations can be properly accounted for.

Version 3.2.0

Released on October 16, 2003

  • Support for the Pocket PC: This version support integration with Pocket PCs, thus allowing you to create worksheets in Pocket PCs and then synchronizing them with the server databases.
  • Ability to import and export studies: Studies can now be exported and imported from PDA. New studies are no longer added to your databases automatically with the upgrade. This gives you the flexibility to download only the studies, which you need. We constantly change the studies with the changing environment and government regulations. Please visit http://www.cpr-tech.com/PDA/PDADownloads.htm to view/download the latest studies placed online. Should you design a study, which you would want to share with others, export feature will allow you to do this.
  • Enhancement, user is asked whether to apply header changes to criterion: When changing the header fields user is asked whether to apply the changed values to the criterion attributes also. This option can also be set from Tools->Options menu to one of these values:
    • Ask: User is prompted whether to apply the header changes to the criterion at the time of data entry.
    • Yes: Always apply header changes to the criterion.
    • No: Do not apply header changes to the criterion
  • Bug fixed, quarterly report not filtering by unit and shift in last year numbers: When filtering quarterly report by unit or shift, last year numbers were ignoring the filter, instead it always used to display the result for all the data elements. This issue has been fixed.
  • Includes the 2004 DRG table: This version includes the updated 2004 DRG table.

Version 3.1.9

  • Changes in worksheet header values does not change criterion values: When worksheet header information is edited, the changes do no trickle to the criterion attributes. However when a new worksheet is added the header information is replicated to the criterion attributes.
Note
  • Analyzer now breaks on Medical Record no and Account No: You can now choose to break on medical record number and/or account number in the data analyzer cube. This will help you to drill down to a specific worksheet from analyzer itself instead of running the General Compliance Report or performing worksheet searches.
  • Reports now break on unit and shift: You can now choose to filter reports i.e. Qualitative Profile, Quarterly Qualitative Profile, General Compliance Report, Percentage Compliance Report and Worksheet Assigned Report by unit and or shift now.
  • Thresholds now allowed to be N/A: For some criterion threshold does not make sense, hence it can be set to N/A. To set a threshold to N/A simply enter N/A or leave it blank in the threshold column of the definition.
  • Disallow invalid practitioner from being entered in worksheet: In some cases invalid practitioner could be entered in the worksheet. This issue has been fixed.
  • Optional print Practitioner's name on report: You can no choose to print practitioner’s name on the reports. To change this go toTools->Options and check the box ‘Print Practitioner’s name on report heading’s’ from the General tab.
  • Reports enhancement that allows choice of printing compliance or non compliance: When running reports i.e. Qualitative Profile, Practitioner Qualitative Profile, Department Qualitative Profile, Quarterly Qualitative Profile and General Compliance Report you can choose whether you want to print yes totals or no totals. To run the report for non-compliance choose ‘No’ for ‘Report On’ from the report parameter dialog box.

Version 3.1.8

  • In the data analyzer the 'To Date' is included in the date range: In data analyzer when choosing a date range, the to date is included in the results. Earlier you had to enter to date + 1 e.g. earlier if you ran the analyzer with to date of 10/30/2003 it would give you the results only until 10/29/2003 now it gives you the results including 10/30/2003. This makes it consistent with the reports date range.
  • System tables are now printed out with the sort order of the display: When printing system tables they are printed in the same sort order as being displayed. So if want to print the practitioner list in the order of name, simply click on the Description column header and print.
  • Percentage compliance report fixed with upper limit of 100%: If some rare cases Percentage Compliance Report used to give error when upper limit was set to 100%. This issue has been fixed.
  • Includes the 2003 DRG table: This version includes the updated 2004 DRG table.
  • Support for user definable quarters: If in your organization quarters are not calendar quarters, you can choose when to start the quarters. To choose a start of quarter go to Tools->Options and select the appropriate month for ‘First quarter starts from the month of’ from General tab. By default quarter starts from the month of January.

Version 3.1.7

  • Double-clicking the Yes, No, or NA Icon in a worksheet will change the criterion value: For faster data entry you can now double-click on the picture of the criterion to change the criterion value between Yes, No and N/A.
  • Dates may now be entered in worksheet or criterion fields without using the '/' character: For faster data entry the date can now also be entered without slashes e.g. to enter 12/25/2003 you can simply enter 122503 and the program will display is appropriately.
